A Rick Stein Food Hero and Countryside Alliance Award winner we opened The Old Farmhouse Bakery in 1982. A family run business we're based on our farm in Steventon in what used to be the old Shire Horse cart sheds and stables before we converted them. We bake everything by hand, in small batches with no added chemicals, preservatives, additives or improvers. Our oven, a 1939 Collins Tridex brick oven that was originally coal fired, is a very important part of the team!

We make a whole range of good old-fashioned bread. Tasty Wholemeal packed with sunflowers and made with stoneground organic flour from local millers Doves Farm. Malted Bread, milled especially for us by Wessex Mill, with added linseed. Cheese and Onion Plaits made with fresh onion and good strong cheddar cheese. Leaven, containing nothing other than flour, salt and water. 100% Rye Sour Dough and 100% Spelt loaves. Sultana and Almond Twists and Chelsea Buns for those of you with a sweet tooth and, not forgetting, our Sticky Lardy Cakes, deliciously addictive. And so the list goes on........ |

you can buy our bread from the bakery or come and visit us at one of the many Farmers markets. |
